Appraising an Acquaintance

Do not be fooled. "Bad companions ruin good character." - I Corinthians 15:33 (GNT)

So many varied neighbors and all may seem harmless. We may think that it's fine to mingle with those towards whom we feel initially drawn. But perhaps praying first would be wise.

Within the mix could be a companion whose friendship holds potential poison. These individuals can be hard to spot initially and may be smooth operators. It is critical to apply vigilance, discernment and prayer when selecting our friends.

Lord, give me a discerning spirit in the area of friendship. Allow your Spirit of truth to spotlight things I may not recognize at first.

Can you spot the poison ivy in this picture?
