For he was mindful of us in our affliction: for his mercy endureth forever.
— Psalm 136:23 (DRB)

Behind the building's impressive front, trash lingers in the alleyway. Bad memories, unforgiveness, personal struggles, secret sins — all kinds of rubbish may dwell there, hidden from outside view.
God knows all about it and still LOVES us. He sees the dirt, hurt, and affliction and wants to "take out the trash." His loving response to suffering of any kind is HIMSELF. As we reach towards our Heavenly Father, He will receive us and steer us aright, facilitating ways to empty the dumpster and clear the alleyway. *
Prayer
Thank you, Lord, that You know everything. Where others might misunderstand, You know all truth. Please take out the trash and bring about growth and goodness. Allow any hidden gems to shine.
Quote
Nothing is hidden from the Lord, but even our secrets are close to him.
//St. Ignatius of Antioch, bishop and martyr (35-98 A.D.)
Thought
In a dank, dark, deep place, Jonah cried out to God. Suddenly Jonah found himself in the light on solid ground (Jonah 2).
