Double Duty

Writer's picture: Lisa LivezeyLisa Livezey

Therefore, it is better for two to be together, than for one to be alone. For they have the advantage of their companionship. – Ecclesiastes 4:9 (CPDV)

Whether it involves vacation fun, everyday work, or difficult circumstances - having a friend by one's side brings companionship and support. Let us not take for granted that friend.

Prayer

Lord, instill within us an appreciation for the companions who accompany us on our life's journey.

Quote

Let Thy Spirit's glad communion waken thoughts of peace and love, And prepare us for Thy presence, In the nobler courts above; There to join in perfect worship, There to swell the angel's song, And in higher, sweeter measure, Earth's imperfect praise prolong. //A Rooker, Welsh and English Hymns and Anthems, #51

Thought

Think of a time in your life when a true friend stood by your side.

Note: Today's devotion concludes a series of eight featuring images from my recent Grand Canyon trip along with quotes from my favorite hymn book, Welsh and English Hymns and Anthems. I hope you have enjoyed this series.

Held in His Hand contains a powerful story, "Wrought From the Wreckage." It shares the journey of my friend Monica after a devastating auto accident eventually led her into prescription drug addiction. Read how God provided a way out for Monica.
