So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.

Do foundational areas of your life seem lacking? Some of us may feel weak, or even void in certain areas - perhaps we missed having a loving family, a solid education, stable finances, good health, deep spiritual upbringing, or [fill in your blank].
Take heart. When we join the household of God, we as members are provided with a whole new base "built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone."
Prayer
Heavenly Father, confirm and build in us today Your solid base which undergirds us just as it did the early church fathers and Your followers who kept and maintained the faith through the ages.

Thank you for such a profound reflection. I have never thought of the foundation we receive in quite that way before. The family of Jesus does give us everything we need to grow up in Christ Jesus.
