'And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you.'

—Luke 12:19-20 NRSV

It's a beautiful day! The road stretches out clearly in front of me and I see where I am headed. "All is well!" say I.

Yet a simple right turn off this same road leads to the Flight 93 National Memorial site. It was a beautiful day on September 11, 2001, and all seemed well that morning, too.

Prayer

God of the past, present, and future, I give this moment to You. Forgive me for any assumptions about the days ahead. I place myself and my future into Your hands. Please find me looking to You daily and ready to meet You at a moment's notice.

Quote

Whatever good or evil befalls you, be confident that God will convert it all to your good.

//St. Jane Frances de Chantal (1572 - 1641)

Thought

God gave the Israelites fresh manna every morning. If they tried to stash a supply for future days, it spoiled.

~ On October 1st and 2nd, I will be a guest on the At Home with Jim & Joy show on EWTN. We will discuss God's providence in the call to be a caregiver and how humble honest prayer each day can lead to deeper understanding of God's will in our lives. Please pray for me as I travel to Birmingham for this show.
