Waiting

How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? (Psalm 13:1 NRSV)

Empty stable. Empty heart.

Is there something you long for in the deepest part of you, something for which you have been asking God to do?

Don't give up. Don't stop asking. Think of Simeon, a "good, God-fearing man and was waiting for Israel to be saved." (Lk 2:25) After watching and waiting for many years, his prayer was answered.

O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice: come and shine on those who dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death.

Prayer enlarges the heart until it is capable of containing God's gift of Himself. ~ St. Mother Theresa

Reflect: For what are you asking God today? Gaze upon the empty stable. Hope. Pray.
